Adventure
For all its calm, Sri Lanka is a superb adventure island — compact enough to surf at dawn and trek cloud forest by afternoon. Whether you want adrenaline or just to travel under your own steam, we build active days with the right guides and the right kit.
On the water
Arugam Bay’s long right-hander is one of Asia’s great waves, with gentler beach breaks nearby for beginners. Inland, the Kelani at Kitulgala gives Grade 2–3 white-water rafting through rainforest, and the Kalpitiya lagoon is a world-class kitesurfing playground.
On foot
The Knuckles Range offers multi-day trekking through cloud forest and villages few travellers reach. The pilgrimage up Adam’s Peak by night, to watch dawn break over a perfect shadow, is unforgettable. We grade every walk honestly and provide proper mountain guides.
In the saddle
Cycling is the loveliest way to feel the country — flat lanes between the ruins of the Cultural Triangle, tea-estate tracks in the hills, and quiet coastal back roads. We run supported rides with a vehicle never far behind.
Where to go
Arugam Bay
Asia-class point break and a friendly surf scene.
Kitulgala
White-water rafting and rainforest canyoning.
Knuckles Range
Multi-day cloud-forest trekking off the beaten track.
Adam’s Peak
The classic night climb to a famous sunrise (Dec–May).
Surf the east April–October, the south November–April. Adam’s Peak pilgrimage season runs December–May.
“Train Adam’s Peak for a night with a clear forecast and a near-full moon. The climb in moonlight, without a torch, is the part people never forget.”
